WPUNJ Commencement 2023

Had a blast at the WPUNJ commencement ceremony in the Prudential Center, Newark, last week.

Ellen Frye got this candid shot.

President Helldobler.

Undergraduate speaker Racha Ahmad, who got one of her two majors in English literature! (the other was Political Science).

Even Pio (the university mascot) appears to have graduated!

My view of the proceedings.

Our commencement speaker this year was Governor Phil Murphy.

2020 WPUNJ English Department Awards Ceremony - Online!

Every year the English Department at William Paterson University holds an awards ceremony to honor the recipients of prizes in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. We also induct the newest members of our local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society, and we award the Helen and Philip Manno Prize to the student with the highest GPA in the English major. This year (2020), because of Covid-19 restrictions, we cannot hold that ceremony physically. Hopefully this video will go some way in making up for the physical absence of an event. Enjoy, and share!
